Paper Clip’s got the crazy eyes.
“What doin’, lady?” wonders Stapler.
A picture to show Andi’s cute little back end.
And the front end is pretty cute, too!
Yesterday Oakley went back to Michelle’s. I was having a VERY hard time medicating him (and failing utterly – when that boy clamped his mouth shut, I couldn’t even get the end of the oral syringe in there, and I tried a million different tricks with no luck) that I decided he needed to go back so he could be properly medicated. When I got there with her, she picked him up, put him on her lap, and popped that medicine right in his mouth. I told her he must be missing her!
I am not the world’s best cat-medication-giver, but I do okay. I’ve gotten some pretty difficult cats medicated in my time, but Oakley was just not having my nonsense. It makes me appreciate how incredibly easy Khal, Alice and Charlie are to medicate!

Rocco’s all “Am but a poor starvin’ kitteh. Is there food?” (There was not.)(And for the record, that cat is NOT free-fed, he gets fed a measured amount morning and evening, and it’s QUITE CLEAR that he’s getting fed somewhere else, too.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
Paper Clip likes this tunnel (and it matches her nose!)
Andi’s all “Watchin’ you, lady.” She actually shouldered Stapler out of the way so I could pet her this morning, so I guess she’s decided I’m not so bad.

In the foster room (not all kittens are in this video.) Sorry about the shaky camera work, Paper Clip and Stapler kept climbing in my lap to be sure I knew that they needed attention and kept bumping my arm. 😻
Sharon had a nap with Rupert (formerly Richie) this afternoon, and it was short-lived because there were things to investigate. (Pip – formerly Carmy – was very busy doing Pip things elsewhere.)
Good night innernets. (Andi (top) and Spiral)

Haha Oakley made his views known!! I think if you can’t medicate a cat, it definitely has decided it’s not happening, and yes obviously he just wanted to be back with Michelle or something.
I remember trying to medicate a half-siamese cat once (my flatmate’s in a large shared house, but the cats loved me so i tended to help out a lot) when the owner was away, and her boyfriend and me getting the medication on the floor, on the wall, on the cat, on ourselves… anywhere but inside the cat. She was a drama queen and loved to complain and cause chaos. It was about 30 minutes of mayhem and eventually we got enough bits of medication inside her mouth to constitute enough but we wasted a lot and i needed a nap after!!
It’s kind of shocking just how HARD they can fight!
I beliee that Rocco has your number. He is so adorable and wants to move in !!!!!
I can’t get over how much Paper Clip looks like Charlie to me. I know you can tell the difference, but I’m so glad you identify the cats when you show us their pictures!
I need to do a side-by-side collage of the two of them. You are definitely not the only one who thinks they look alike!
My sister and I feel a little better, now, after hearing Oakley’s medication refusal saga. We have been known to have to board a cat at the vet’s for a week or two, so that they can get their needed medication twice a day!
You are definitely NOT alone! 🙂
My easiest cat to medicate is also my angriest. When I put my hand over her head to tilt it up she gets so mad she opens up her mouth and screams. Which is when I drop the pill in and she just swallows. Makes me laugh every time.
My other cats are harder. Luckily my feral cats will eat the meds if I hide it in other stuff.
Been loling at the medication saga.
We have a three legged cat who is on gabapentin for pain. Twice a day. My morning task list includes “find cat and medicate”
You would think with 3 legs that there would be 1/4 less fight. Nope. His usual strategy is to hide but if he’s in a fiesty mood it is entertaining.
Funny thing is we had to work out the right dose very carefully – get it wrong and we had him face planting.
My kitty girl Elsie has 2 deformed paws, rt frnt & lft rr, and she was sooooo hard to medicate when she had her dental surgeries. Can’t blame her, she had a sore mouth. The 2nd surgery I gave up halfway thru the med regimen. Now that she has no teeth/no sore mouth she is far less feisty when medicating.
My kitty boy Bellamy is so easy to pill, I don’t have to hold him down, just open mouth and tilt head back. I can get meds in pretty far, he has a tendency to spit them out or hide in his cheek, black house panther brat!!
Each kitty is different, it’s an adventure!!! LOL
It’s killing me how you resist Rocco. I mean, you still put captions on him but they are under duress and only because you know we want to know and you love us. I know he will never be a permie, unless Fred wants it to happen, but I appreciate you tolerating him when you are not totally responsible for him! Oh and I had to lol when you said there is nothing harder to get off a wall than dried cat snot! I have a sneezer and 2 big picture windows, I feel ya!! I missed the post about when you did the climbing wall, it’s such a nice touch and I love it! Well done on all fronts!
Rocco won’t be a permanent resident because both Charlie and Khal hate him. I’m not throwing a bomb into the middle of my peaceful permies.
Awwww, Oakley, sweet shy silver tabby boy. Maybe he can rejoin the foundling crew when all the sneezies and sniffles are done and vanquished?
I kind of love the idea of whoops! shaky camera work because you had kitties climbing in your lap. <3 And by kind of, I mean quite a bit!
