“Wow. I can see a LOT from up here!”
“And I can reach this little dangling chain (from which I ripped the feather toy) more easily!”
Tricki thinks my slippers need some bunny-kicking.
Tricki is off to Petsmart in a couple of hours, though you’ll be seeing pictures of her for at least the next few days (I took a lot of pictures of that gorgeous girl!). John Smith will be staying here ’til room opens up at Petsmart. Depending on adoptions, that could be by the end of the week, or it could be a little while. Who knows?
Edited to add: Tricki will be staying here with John Smith ’til room opens up for both of them at Petsmart. John Smith is a talker, and I’m afraid that being alone in the foster room would make him sing all night long. At least this way he won’t be lonely and we’ll all get a good night’s sleep. π
I know I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, we started opening the door to the foster room so that the kittens could roam around the upstairs. We did that one day, and then Alice started not feeling well (for those who missed it, she had a bladder stone that was removed via surgery) and her preferred litter box is the one upstairs in the bathroom. I didn’t want to block her access to it, so we kept the kittens confined to the foster room. On Sunday, John Smith started making it clear that he’d like to have more room to roam, so Fred put up the gates across the bottom of the stairs, and opened the foster room door.
And naturally, John Smith and Tricki spent a good part of their day hiding in the closet in the foster room. New things are SCARY, you know? By the end of Sunday, they were coming to the bottom of the stairs and watching our cats go by. Fred took Stefan upstairs yesterday morning to introduce him to John Smith, hoping that they’d be buddies. John Smith took one look at Stefan and hissed, and Stefan said “I’ll be going back downstairs now, thanks.”
John Smith will have the run of the upstairs during the day for the rest of his time here (however long that is), and we may try another introduction to Stefan and see how that goes.

Stefan hopes y’all are staying warm.

That Stefan is such a good-natured love bug. With a great sense of fashion.
Robyn, I think you’ve seen some of my items on Facebook. I can crochet about anything. If there are certain kitty props you might want, send me an email or msg me on FB and I will see what I can do. Stephan cracks me up in his lumberjack hat.
That pig hat you posted today made me laugh out loud. I will definitely keep you in mind! π
Best of luck on the adoptions! Shouldn’t the cold help people decide that they really need a warm cat in their lives?
And thanks Stefan, I work on staying warm. It is relatively mild with only -3 degree Celsius, the main problem is that the whole city has frozen over and people are just falling over themselves and breaking their limbs all over the place. And as I am clumsy at the best of times, I am trying to stay in as long as I can.
Oh, are you by any chance living anywhere near me? That is, central Europe? π Here (Szczecin, Poland) it has JUST begun to look a lot like Christmas. And I thougt we would have the first snow this year somewhere by Easter time (last year we had a very springtime-like Christmas and a snowy white Easter, no kidding)
We are practically neighbours! Well quite close by anyway as I am from Berlin. Last winter was interesting by starting so late and then lasting so long. I am always torn between my love for snow and my hate for my heating bill! The weather report says that the we are going to get the weather from the direction of beautiful Gdansk.
Last time we had a cold snap, adoptions were through the roof. Keeping my fingers crossed that it happens again! π
SNOW INCOMING! My furheads and I are ready to go, although I turned on my brand new space heater last night and they looked at it like it was an alien thing (noise! It’s a fan-forced type) until they realized “oh hey, there’s warm coming out of that thing” *flop* Silly furheads π Can’t fault them, though.
I have to be at work, but I have a car that will get me home and I don’t mind driving in icy/snowy weather. I’m not worried. The only problem is the morons.
Be careful of those morons! π
Stefan certainly looks cozy. We are getting a foot of snow (or more!) in the next 24 hours. That hat would certainly come in handy!
Brrrrr, I hope you stay warm!!!
*BOOPS STEFAN’S NOSE* Love that hat on him! It totally suits him!
Poor Stephan….no kitten love π
How about trying Ambassador Tommy with John Smith? Or is Tommy on official leave given his recent paw issues?
Good luck sweet Tricki! Be a brave friendly girl so your forever family can find you easily!
Good luck to all in the snow storm’s path! And I wouldn’t mind you sending a few flakes to South Carolina… I had to go all the way to Denver last year to see snow! π
The Ambassador tends not to care for older kittens, though we may give it a try!
(Also, be careful what you wish for, snow-wise!!!)
Oh I’m glad Tricki is staying longer with John Smith! (And I won’t tell him that you don’t like the songs of his people…). π
I’ll take my chances wishing for snow. When I take my Christmas decorations down, I put up winter decorations of snowmen and signs that say “Let it snow”! π
So happy to see Tricki coming out of her shell!
Stefan’s a lumberjack and he’s OK.
Those kittens are too cute! Little Jackson Brown is squeezable and squeeable.
Sure hope those Petsmart kitties go quicker, the Sopranos and Toto, Bunnie and all need forever homes, pronto!
Poor Stefan, this is the price of being inside kitties, your dignity can take the occasional hit. However, it does look snuggy.
Pretty Tricki, she’s got her Toothless thing going today. Gorgeous!

Which one of your cats would be likely to enjoy something like this? π
I can’t imagine any of them putting up with that! π
OT Have you seen these kittens soda box fort? Looks like it could be easy to make.
That is SO CUTE! Obviously I need to do that. π
I could really use a hat like Stefan’s. So cold!! I believe that hat is known as a “Fudd Hat” (after Elmer Fudd.)
The header shots today are wonderful… smiling blissful kitties all…
Oh, John Smith – you have stolen my heart! I’m not sure why, but I just think he’s adorable. I’m sorry he didn’t take to Stefan (who is another of my favorites!).
